Hey TechNavers, today is the day that Huawei will be revealing the new Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and the Mate 20X in London! This will be a global announcement and it'll start at 2PM over there, the hour difference between London and Kuala Lumpur is just 7 hours so the live stream will start tonight at 9PM (16 October 2018).

The upcoming Huawei Mate 20 series is going to be unveiled soon, taking place in London, Huawei will be revealing three new smartphones which are likely to be the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and the gaming oriented Mate 20X. Besides knowing that the Kirin 980 chipset and a dual Neural Processing Unit (NPU) will be integrated inside, there are plenty of rumours here and there so we have gathered them up and did a roundup on the three devices. Here's what the rumours say you can expect from them!

Can you believe it? The Huawei Mate 20 series will be unveiled this week in London! There have been many leaks here and there, but the latest one is probably the most surprising because according to the leaked photo, it seems that one of the models is going to have a stylus.

Google just announced their Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones last night, and despite their camera improvements over the Pixel 2 series, we can’t help but draw parallels with the camera improvements pushed by AI powered phones like the Huawei P20 Pro. The Super Res Zoom, which enhances digital zoom sounds like a poor man’s copy of the hardware enhanced Hybrid Zoom while Fused Video Stabilization sounds just like AI Stabilization.

The unreleased upcoming Night Sight update also sounds like a carbon copy of Huawei’s Night mode, but Huawei already have a Super Night Mode update on the way for phones like the Huawei Nova 3 and others. Long known as the defacto standard for Android cameraphones, perhaps the time is nigh for photographers and camera fans to start looking towards Huawei and their upcoming Huawei Mate 20 series for the cameraphone innovations of 2018? Is the Huawei Mate 20 the new cameraphone king of 2018?

Just last week, we reported and shown you how the Huawei Mate 20 Pro looks like at the back. This time around, we have another render leak and it will be the front look, which kind of "confirms" that the waterdrop notch is hanging on top of the display with quite a respectable narrow bezel. In addition to that, we also got a leak on the price but we will come to that later.

As we come up to the official announcement of the Huawei Mate 20 series in London on 16 October 2018, a teaser promotion video of it has been leaked, revealing 8 major points. These include the dual NPU packing Kirin 980 chipset and what could be a larger than 4000 mAh battery that has ultra-fast charging and super-long battery life due to more intelligent AI-based battery monitoring. Other intriguing points include what could be a super wide view for the 3 rear cameras while the multi-language text points towards faster instant translation.

So the first wave of Apple XS series has just been released globally, in case you didn't know, it features the latest A12 Bionic processor that measures 7nm only. Apple is not the only one with the 7nm processor, as Huawei's new Kirin 980 processor has the same size and the company is actually quite confident that it's better than Apple's.

Just past midnight last night, our notorious leakster, Roland Quandt from Twitter has released some image renders of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Said to be "official", it seems that the pro variant will come in black, blue and a new shade of twilight compare to the P20 Pro. Besides that, we also got a bunch of new tech-specs information so here it goes.

With the Huawei Mate 20 announcement less than a month away, the rumours are literally flying about what new features and tech it could be bringing in. While our time with the Kirin 980 did reveal some hints, we expect there to be quite a few more as a leaked image from @rquandt has appeared, showing what appears to be wireless “airpods” or headsets that can be charged wirelessly. This seems to indicate that the Mate 20 or Mate 20 Pro could have wireless charging as well.

Recently, an image of the Huawei Mate 20 Dual Active SIM has been leaked courtesy of slashleaks.com showcasing the Huawei Mate 20 series capability to have 2 active fully featured SIM cards at the same device. As compared to existing implementations, which only one SIM card can remain active at a time especially during calls as the other SIM card will be set on standby throughout the duration of the call.
