Huawei Malaysia has announced that pre-orders for the MateBook series consisting of the Huawei MateBook X Pro and MateBook D have sold out, with more MateBook X Pro laptops selling than the MateBook D. But fret not, for those who are still interested in getting some of the first Huawei Matebook laptops in Malaysia you can do so at the official sales launch roadshows happening at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Queensbay Mall Penang or at Aeon Mall Dato’ Onn in Johor Bahru from 27 October 2018.

With the recent pre-order of the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Malaysia has announced that the flagship has already sold out on its online shop, Lazada as well as 3ex online website. We don't know how many units did they sell, though, but the popular demand is there and customers who couldn't get it can still wait for the official launch day on 27 October 2018.

Right after the global launch, Huawei Malaysia have announced that the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and Mate 20X are coming to Malaysia as soon as 27 October 2018 for the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro. The Huawei Mate 20 will come in just black with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for RM2799, while the Mate 20 Pro will come in black, twilight and emerald green with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for RM3599. The early birds who purchase it will get a free SoundStone and Wireless Charger respectively.

In conjunction with the launch of the Huawei Mate 20 series, the Chinese electronics manufacturer has announced the launch of the Huawei Watch GT with battery life of up to 2 weeks before needing to recharge. In order to achieve this feat, the Huawei Watch GT features a dual-chip architecture which intelligently switches between high performance and low performance mode to improve efficiency.

Today, Huawei has finally unveiled the latest Mate 20 series along with other two products including the Huawei Watch GT and Band 3 Pro the but we'll cover these separately. Powered by the Kirin 980 chipset, a new Nano Memory card and more, the series includes the Huawei Mate 20, starting from €799 (4GB + 128GB, ~RM3837) and €849 (6GB + 128GB, ~RM4078), €1049 (~RM5038) for the Mate 20 Pro, €899 (~RM4318) for the Mate 20X and the Porsche Design Mate 20 RS in two variants - €1659 (8GB + 256GB, ~RM8141) and €2095 (8GB + 512GB, ~RM10062). All the phones except the Mate 20X (26 October 2018) are now available worldwide but we don't have a clear date for Malaysia's release.

Google just announced their Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones last night, and despite their camera improvements over the Pixel 2 series, we can’t help but draw parallels with the camera improvements pushed by AI powered phones like the Huawei P20 Pro. The Super Res Zoom, which enhances digital zoom sounds like a poor man’s copy of the hardware enhanced Hybrid Zoom while Fused Video Stabilization sounds just like AI Stabilization.
The unreleased upcoming Night Sight update also sounds like a carbon copy of Huawei’s Night mode, but Huawei already have a Super Night Mode update on the way for phones like the Huawei Nova 3 and others. Long known as the defacto standard for Android cameraphones, perhaps the time is nigh for photographers and camera fans to start looking towards Huawei and their upcoming Huawei Mate 20 series for the cameraphone innovations of 2018? Is the Huawei Mate 20 the new cameraphone king of 2018?

Just last week, we reported and shown you how the Huawei Mate 20 Pro looks like at the back. This time around, we have another render leak and it will be the front look, which kind of "confirms" that the waterdrop notch is hanging on top of the display with quite a respectable narrow bezel.
