The Huawei Mate Xs isn’t the only thing we can get excited for at today’s Huawei's press event, there were also other powerful devices being introduced to the world by the company’s CEO Richard Yu as well. The devices included two new Matebook series to complete the Huawei’s laptop family. One of them is the new and upgraded Matebook X Pro and the other one would be the Matebook D series.

Huawei Malaysia have kicked off their Online IT Fair starting from today until 8 July 2019 with 50% discounts, daily flash deals, the chance to spin and win up to RM1000 store vouchers and more. Today’s major 50% deal is the Huawei WiFi Q2 5GHz mesh WiFi system normally RM999 but now priced at RM499 but the latest 8GB RAM + 256GB storage P30 Pro is also going for RM3399 (RM400 off of the usual RM3799) and you can also get a bit more off with the RM20 store wide voucher.

Shanghai Zhaoxin Semiconductor Co recently revealed that their 16nm KX-6000 and KH-30000 x86 CPUs have hit 3.0GHz, which is about the same level as an Intel Core i5-7400 CPU. No actual news whether or not they could be used in Huawei’s upcoming MateBook laptops, but taking a look through the Shanghai Zhaoxin Semiconductor Co site reveals that their x86 CPUs have been featured in actual Lenovo laptops and servers. So, if Huawei is looking for CPU alternatives they may not have to look very far.

The worst feeling is your laptop dying on your as you work with no power source or charger in sight. Huawei seems to have come up with a solution with this problem as their Vice President of Mobile Business, Li Xiaolong Bruce Lee teased their upcoming 40W powerbank.

Huawei recently came out with an invite for something coming a day before MWC 2019 (which is 25 February 2019 until 28 February 2019). Set for 24 February 2019, the invite shows something bending, so our first reaction would be "is it Huawei's foldable smartphone!?" but when you think again, the Huawei Matebook series usually gets revealed around MWC as well, so it could also be a hint at an upcoming laptop.

Huawei’s latest flagship, the Mate 20 Pro has claimed the title as the “Smartphone of the Year 2018” at the Technology Product Award in the United Kingdom. Based on a statement by Stuff, who are the organizers of the event, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is surprisingly compact with a highly adaptable camera system which is suitable for almost any occasion.

Huawei Malaysia have brought in their MateBook laptops in a big way with all of them sold out on the first day of the weekend launch. Now, only available for booking, we managed to get some time with the Huawei MateBook X Pro with 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor, so we did an unboxing and hands-on video which you can see below.

With the Huawei Mate 20 announcement less than a month away, the rumours are literally flying about what new features and tech it could be bringing in. While our time with the Kirin 980 did reveal some hints, we expect there to be quite a few more as a leaked image from @rquandt has appeared, showing what appears to be wireless “airpods” or headsets that can be charged wirelessly. This seems to indicate that the Mate 20 or Mate 20 Pro could have wireless charging as well.

While Honor will be busy setting up their 23 May 2017 event in China, their brother Huawei has also announced an event on the same day and it will be held in Berlin, Germany with a new Huawei Matebook series.

While laptops are not as hot as smartphones, Huawei is still not giving up their Matebook lineup. We just got some interesting leaks from Evan Blass, the popular Twitter leaker confirming three upcoming Matebooks.
