During Facebook's Q3 earnings call, CEO Mark Zuckerberg has revealed some of the upcoming plans for the social media platforms. Out of them, one got our attention by mentioning that the company will shift their focus to young adults with "significant changes" applied to Facebook and Instagram.

If you recall, Instagram started working on direct posting from desktop browsers in May. Some beta testers got to access the feature in June, but since then we had no updates about it. Fortunately, the feature will be released soon.

As many of you should know by now, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram servers were down late last night in Malaysia but it seemed that the whole world experienced it together. Anyway, all the servers are back online and Facebook just published an apology and update of what happened.

Back in May, it was announced that both Facebook and Instagram were planning to build an Instagram Kids app version. However, it was met with some concerns from several parties including lawmakers and child specialists. This eventually led to a pause in the project.

A lot of people are big social media users, especially those who are younger. For the telco companies, this is a group of people that they also want to entice. Now, Digi has something new up its sleeve - a new package targeted at youngsters.

Instagram has been working on a lot of features in the last few months. Recently, the company even discussed its focus in four areas. These include videos and creators, which are both areas that received some related updates yesterday.

It's inevitable for technology to progress, something to also applies to mobile apps. When it comes to content, photos are just one of many we see online. That's why Instagram no longer considers it enough and has been working on expanding the functionality of its platform.

Facebook is always looking for ways it can leverage its large user base. For example, there is the Facebook Shops feature released last year, which is a shopping platform. Instagram has something familiar and the company is looking to improve on it.

Most of us love to browse the Internet uninterrupted, viewing what we like without pop-ups and ads. But companies don't live on free content, and Instagram wouldn't remain unmonetised forever. So get ready because more ads are coming to Instagram.
