Redmi was rumoured to launch a gaming smartphone at the end of March but it never happened. On the first day of April, the company brought some good news by hinting that the device could be presented at a launch conference that is scheduled to happen sometime later this month.

In response to the launch of the OPPO Find X3 Pro last night, Redmi's Product Director Wang Teng said that he's glad to see other smartphone brands adopt the "microscope" camera that enables users to shoot macro images. For your information, the telephoto macro feature was actually first introduced by Xiaomi last year, and it looks like it will be on a Redmi smartphone soon.

Earlier in January, it was rumoured that Xiaomi would be launching a Redmi gaming smartphone this year that comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. Today, the President of Xiaomi Group China and CEO of Redmi Lu Weibing teases that the device will be arriving this month.

To not be left behind the race, Redmi's General Manager Lu Weibing publicly asked if the consumers are excited about their new products with a 5nm process too. Now, realme's Vice President Xu Qi has voiced out regarding the latest technology as well by hinting that the company is preparing a flagship to come with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 chipset.

It looks like smartphone manufacturers are now hopping on the bandwagon by making gaming products too. Earlier, it was reported that HONOR will start their gaming series which will be called 'Hunter'. Today, Redmi has also shared with the public that they will be launching their very first gaming laptop on 14 August.

Xiaomi recently unveiled the Redmi AirDots 2 TWS earphones, which sold more than 3 million units in China due to the fact that it’s only priced at RMB79 (~RM48). However, once the crowdfunding campaign is over, the aforementioned earphones will revert back to its retail price of RMB99 (~RM60).
