In case you've been hiding under the rock, Microsoft is indeed in talks with TikTok on acquiring the company. To briefly recap the situation, the US President Donald Trump has ordered TikTok to be sold to Microsoft and the deal must be done by 15 September 2020 or else it will be banned in the country.

Earlier, it was reported that Microsoft is interested in buying TikTok after the U.S. President Donald Trump said that the Chinese app is posing security risks to the country. Now, Microsoft has officially confirmed that they will proceed to acquire the platform which belongs to ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok.

It seems that TikTok's USA woes are not about to end yet. The app was built by Chinese company ByteDance and the US government doesn't like that, citing it as a national security risk. US President Donald Trump said that the app may be banned, but is also considering alternatives for it.

TikTok just can't seem to catch a break, from May until now, the app has gotten into a lot of trouble particularly with the India government. In case you missed it, the app actually got banned there due to security reasons and the United States is also considering the ban.

Last week, users of iOS 14 beta have gotten notifications alerting them that TikTok was trying to access their clipboards. Not only the doing has invaded users' privacy, but it also exists as a possibility to cause users' data being stolen by someone else. After that, TikTok has immediately submitted a new update to the App Store to fix the issue. However, it turns out that TikTok is not the only app accessing users' clipboards.

It seems these days everybody wants a slice of that short-form video pie. TikTok more or less pioneered this market and now other companies are looking to join the bandwagon. One of those companies is YouTube, which has started to test multi-segment videos that are 15-seconds long.

With the announcement of iOS 14 being made, many users are quite excited about the new features that are coming soon to Apple devices. Other than those features, it looks like the latest OS update has some impressive skills as well. It is reported that the iOS 14 beta has caught TikTok reading users' clipboards.

Currently, most countries are still having an on-going battle against COVID-19, as well as false information circulating around online and scammers exploiting people with financial difficulties. However, for India they too have another battle which is....voting down TikTok. What is going on?
