Joining the growing ranks of entry-level smartphones with 4G LTE is the Motorola Moto E (2015)smartphone with it's recent official announcement. Asides from that, the new Moto E has a larger 4.5-inch display with Gorilla Glass 3 and 540 x 960 pixel resolution. There is also a VGA front camera as well while the 5MP rear camera can now record 720p HD video. The main tech spec upgrade remains the 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor which in turn enables 4G LTE. A lower-end Snapdragon 200 powered version with 3G connectivity will also be made available but no news when. While it doesn't have any IPx7 water proof certifications the new Moto E does feature a water resistant coating so it should be somewhat splash proof. No Malaysia release dates or pricing yet but the 4G LTE capable Moto E will be available for $150 (RM539).

Earlier reports may have indicated that Samsung could be reducing the number of devices it has on hand but new rumours indicate that we could soon be seeing some new tablets. This is due to a report saying that the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Samsung Galaxy Tab E and Samsung Galaxy Tab J trademarks have been applied for at the Korean Intellectual Property Office. No news yet whether these are just codenames or if Samsung will be streamlining their Galaxy Tab product range (Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Tab S, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note Pro) to just these three devices. No tech specs or features were mentioned but as usual, do take this rumour with a good pinch of salt or at least until we know more.

While there are a lot of smartwatches in the market these days, none can say that they have flexible wraparound displays. This may soon change as E Ink, the company behind all those energy-saving black-and-white displays for other smartwatches is supposedly working on a curved wraparound display for a smartwatch. E Ink supposedly have a prototype already but did not show it off at Computex 2014 this year. While they didn't reveal any specific tech specs, they did say that the device would be feature the ability to detect your heart rate, show weather info and notifications. We assume that E Ink are not working on a device themselves so keep an eye out on other smartwatch makers in the coming months. No Malaysia release dates or pricing just yet but stay tuned and we'll keep you posted.

Featuring the same rounded look with many differently coloured plastic shells, the Motorola Moto E is a 4.3-inch display smartphone with a dual-core processor and other above average tech specs at a fairly reasonable price of $129 (RM416). The ASUS PadFone series consists of smartphones that can be slotted into larger tablet screens. The smartphone is still the one powering the transformed tablet but the screen size is definitely bigger. Coming in between the performance ASUS PadFone Infinity and the lower-end ASUS PadFone Mini is the recently announced ASUS PadFone E. While the PadFone E looks a lot like the PadFone Mini it offers a bit more in terms of tech specs and features. These include a 1.4GHz A7 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4.7-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, 13MP rear camera with LED flash, Android 4.3 and a 1820 mAh battery. The tablet portion offers a 10.1-inch display with similar 1280 x 720 pixel resolution but adds on a 1MP front camera and 5000 mAh battery which can be used to charge the PadFone E smartphone. The larger screen on the PadFone E comes up to 126g while the tablet part weighs in at 526g with black and white colours available. It is expected to be priced at $560 (RM1873) and will be made available initially in Taiwan. It should eventually reach Malaysia as well and if it keeps the same price tag, it should be a bit more affordable than the other two PadFones.
