When it comes to brands that do well enough in the entry and mid-range segment for smartphones, Nokia is definitely one of them. A few of them were unveiled back in March but the brand has been mostly quiet this year, till the sudden unveiling of three new devices. Yesterday, HMD Global announced the Nokia C5 Endi, C2 Tava, and C2 Tennen entry-level smartphones.

It seems that Nokia could be releasing the Nokia 6.3 in the near future, and it comes equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset as well as a quad-camera camera setup in the rear. While there’s no news on the pricing of the smartphone as of now, we do know that it might be unveiled somewhere around Q3 of 2020.

At the Mobile World Congress last year, we saw one of the coolest looking smartphones which were the Nokia 9 PureView. It was also the first phone to showcase a Penta-camera module but HMD Global never brought it to Malaysia. Also, the phone was met with low reception due to poor camera scores but it seems that Nokia is bringing it back again with a new camera setup.

In an online livestream yesterday due to Coronavirus concerns, Nokia revealed their Nokia 8.3 5G, 5.3 and 1.3 smartphones along with the 5310 feature phone. While the 8.3 supports 5G and offers a 64MP quad camera with ZEISS Optics, all other tech specs for the three Nokia smartphones are decidedly midrange with one or two standout features here and there.
All three come with Android One and dedicated Google Assistant buttons but the 1.3 comes with Camera Go, which is the cut down version of the Google Pixel camera app. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but the 8.3 5G is priced at 599 euros (~RM2824) for Q2 2020, the 5.3 at 189 euros (~RM891) for April 2020 and the 1.3 at 95 euros (~RM447) for early April 2020. One of them makes an appearance in the next James Bond movie, No Time to Die.

Based on a statement by Nokiamob.net, Nokia could have plans to release a foldable smartphone somewhere around the end of 2020. With that said, the report also mentioned that there is a possibility we could be seeing the aforementioned foldable device make it debut during the upcoming MWC 2020 which will be held in Barcelona from 24 February until 27 February this year.

Based on a recent video posted by HMD Global onto their Nokia Twitter account, it seems that they will be unveiling a new Nokia smartphone on 5 December 2019. Unfortunately, there’s not much known in regards to the exact model of the aforementioned smartphone for now.

Nokia Malaysia has recently mentioned that from 30 October until 15 November 2019, you can trade-in your old smartphone to get either the Nokia 8110 or the Nokia 3.1 for the price of RM199 and RM299 respectively. In order to do so, simply head over to any of their participating dealers and hand in your old but functional smartphone.
