Facebook will officially shut down its Gaming app on 28 October 2022 after failing to compete with Amazon’s Twitch in the live game streaming market. In case you’re not familiar, the Facebook Gaming app lets users watch and play video games on demand.

If you want to watch your favourite content creators collab in streams, you usually have to open multiple windows to watch them. However, Facebook Gaming is making it easier for content creators to stream together and for their viewers to watch them.

Back in May, we reported that there was a rumour of Netflix venturing into gaming and it has surfaced again. According to sources, Netflix has hired a former Electronic Arts and Facebook executive, named Mike Verdu to join the cause.

Cloud gaming service is slowly becoming more and more popular with Google's Stadia paving the road by bringing all the massive titles into its service. Now, it is reported that Facebook is joining the business as well by introducing the mentioned services to the already existing Gaming section.

One thing that came from the last few months of having to stay indoors is the increase in people going online everywhere. But it seems that wasn't enough to save the streaming platform Mixer. The company has announced that it will be shutting down and allowing its partners to move on to Facebook Gaming.

Yesterday, we talked about Facebook releasing their own mobile gaming app releasing today and it is now live. However, it's only available on the Google Play Store now and has yet to appear in the Apple App Store. Promptly named Facebook Gaming, it functions the same way as the desktop version allowing you to stream your games or play with your friends and family together.
