Indonesia has announced that it's aiming to commission its first nuclear power plant by 2034, with proposed facilities in Sumatra and Borneo. The country’s Energy and Mineral Resources Minister, Bahlil Lahadalia, was quoted by Jakarta Globe as saying that the plan is part of Indonesia’s national energy roadmap and falls under the oversight of the Ministry.

News about the iPhone 16 Series being banned by the Indonesian government has been going on for a few months. Today, Bloomberg reports that both Indonesia and Apple have finally agreed on the terms to lift the ban.

Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arif Havas Oegroseno, has called for young programmers in Malaysia and Indonesia to develop a Nusantara-style system similar to China’s open-source artificial intelligence (AI) platform, DeepSeek. Arif, who is currently on a working visit in Malaysia, said technology experts from both countries should explore the possibility, as DeepSeek is open source.

This is because the investment proposal didn’t include manufacturing smartphone components in Indonesia, which is part of the requirement to get the domestic content rule.
