After announcing that the HUAWEI Watch 3 will be launched on 2 June with HarmonyOS, the Chinese tech company continues to hype us up by revealing another upcoming product in a new teaser poster. Besides the wearable gadget, it is confirmed that there will be a new MatePad Pro coming with the highly-anticipated in-house OS as well.

HUAWEI's in-house operating system HarmonyOS is making its way to more devices from the company. Earlier, it was reported that the rollout of the stable version for smartphones is expected to happen in June. Other than that, a list of upgradable devices has also been leaked. With such progress, everyone might think that the Chinese tech giant will ditch Android OS completely in the future. Now, the latest source is claiming that it will happen.

If you're interested in HarmonyOS, you've probably been keeping up with its recent news. Huawei's operating system is set to launch later this month, but developers have already gotten a taste for it and have been revealing what it has.

Generally, Huawei would usually showcase their latest P series smartphones in March during the Mobile World Congress show. But it seems that the company is delaying that until the end of April (at least according to a staff member) with two events - one on 22 April and the other on 27th.

After being banned by the US from using Google Mobile Services, HUAWEI started to focus on developing its own in-house OS dubbed HarmonyOS. Now, the company is finally going to release the final beta version on 31 March.

A few weeks ago, HUAWEI had announced that the HarmonyOS will soon be available as an update for current smartphones starting from April. The company also mentioned that the Mate X2 will be the first device to get the update via OTA. If you are wondering what other devices will be getting the update afterward, the answer might have arrived with a leak pointing to all devices with Kirin 710 and above.

It's been more than a year now since Huawei is working on HarmonyOS. In fact, there's already HarmonyOS 2.0 which the beta version was made publicly available globally since December 2020. Ironically, it's not really made accessible for users outside of China for some reason and here's what we know so far.

After the trade ban being imposed on HUAWEI, some other Chinese smartphone manufacturers might also worry that they will face the same challenge. We can't deny that HUAWEI took some time to build the HarmonyOS to serve as the alternative to Google's OS. Therefore, if it happened to the others, they will also need some time to develop an in-house OS. Recently, the CEO of HUAWEI Consumer Business Group Richard Yu said that HarmonyOS will be made available for other smartphone manufacturers.

The HarmonyOS 2.0 beta has recently started to roll out for mobile apps developers and as a public beta for some HUAWEI smartphones. With that going on, we expect the stable version of the OS (operating system) to be soon available for HUAWEI smartphone users next year. Before that happens, HUAWEI is dropping a smart screen product that comes with the HarmonyOS next week and the teaser looks interesting.
