Right after the US government had given license to firms for supplying chips to Huawei, the next good news to the China tech company is getting the approval to work with Sony and OmniVision once again for receiving their tech components.

Not only good at making smartphone chipsets, but MediaTek is also supplying many high-end TVs with chipsets that are specifically made for them. Tomorrow, the Taiwanese chip manufacturer's latest product MediaTek MT9602 smart TV chipset will debut together with a new Motorola smart TV. Let's find out what the chipset does!

Not only the U.S. is banning HUAWEI to have any affiliation with the country's companies, but companies from other corners of the world are being affected as well. Earlier, it has been reported that HUAWEI is not able to manufacture the Kirin chips anymore due to their chip supplier TSMC being pressured by the ban. Now, MediaTek is facing the same problem as well. However, it looks like the chip manufacturer is not going to give up working with HUAWEI, as they applied for an exemption from the ban.

MediaTek has officially announced the Dimensity 800U mid-ranged with 5G support, which uses the 7nm manufacturing process. While not much is known in regards to which smartphone will come equipped with the aforementioned chipset, MediaTek did mention that it will most likely make an appearance outside of China starting Q3 2020.

5G technology is becoming a must for the latest smartphones to have these days. Although the communication technology has not been widely implemented yet, it is still a good idea to future proof the devices. Other than smartphones, Intel and MediaTek are also reported to be launching their 5G solution for laptops too.

We've been seeing a few new Helio chipsets from MediaTek, but the company has been focusing mostly on its Dimensity series of chipsets. The latest one is the Dimensity 720, a new 5G chipset that we saw hints of with the OPPO A72 leak a few days ago. MediaTek has now launched this chipset, which will provide mid-range devices with 5G connectivity.

Last week, Samsung shared their vision on the development of 6G and they are confident that the communication technology can enter massive commercialization around 2030. Although there's still a long time for us to enter the era of 6G (as we haven't even fully stepped into the era of 5G yet!), many ambitious companies have already started to focus on the development. Now, it appears that MediaTek will be joining the squad as well by embarking on the 6G journey.

Both Redmi and realme had announced their new devices including the Redmi 9A, Redmi 9C and realme C11 earlier today. All of them are budget smartphones that are priced under RM500. However, do you know that today is also the first day for their chipsets to meet the world? It turns out that the Helio G25 and G35 are MediaTek's latest chipsets that are made for budget gaming smartphones.

The Dimensity 1000+ is currently the most powerful chipset that MediaTek can offer. Earlier, the iQOO Z1 has become the first device to utilize the chipset, and we're anticipating more devices to be launched equipping the powerhouse after that. Now, it is rumoured that a new Redmi phone with the chipset will be launched soon and it could be the Redmi K40.

It seems that there could be a possibility that Xiaomi could be working on a smartphone that comes equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ chipset. With that said, the aforementioned smartphone will most likely come equipped with features such as 144Hz refresh rate display, 5G support, and potentially more.
