Previously, we reported on how Netflix will block users from downloading films and shows for offline viewing and it seems that the limitations of the subscription tier don’t just end there. In fact, recent reports on the matter also point towards the new Netflix base plan to also limit streaming resolution to 480p.

Netflix is on the verge of releasing a new ad-supported subscription plan so as to attract more people to subscribe to the streaming service. However, it seems that the new plan will have more limitations than first thought as it will block users from downloading shows and films for offline viewing.

Popular streaming service Netflix expanded into mobile gaming in November last year, but it looks like the service has gotten just meagre traction. Available only to subscribers but have to be downloaded as separate apps, a recent analysis found that less than 1 percent of Netflix’ total subscribers are using the service.

Well, it looks like the new subscription plan model may be coming sooner than expected as an alleged internal memo leak revealed that Netflix will be pushing its release to as early as October this year.
