After a swarm of events and PR news from the post-Hari Raya holidays, tech news was calm again this week and there isn't much going on. The biggest one was probably the Xiaomi Mi 9T, also known as the K20 is launched in Malaysia from RM1199 which is dirt cheap, Shopee 7.7 Orange Madness campaign is back with awesome RM1 items, RM0.77 Shocking Sale, Shopee24 Express Delivery and more, 11street died and revived as PrestoMall, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is now available in Malaysia and the Huawei Nova 5 series got unveiled.

Samsung tweeted a video on their Twitter account, recommending owners of Samsung Smart TVs to perform scans for viruses and malware especially for those that are connected to the internet via WiFi or even LAN cable. Over at PC Gaming Show, Samsung made an appearance amongst the array of brand new PC games to introduce their latest monitor, the 27 inch CRG5 240Hz curved gaming monitor. This monitor is unique, perfect for those who not only want an immersive gaming experience but also an edge when it comes to competitive gaming and first-person shooters.

Today, Samsung Electronics is happy to announce that they have just partnered with AMD. Together, they aim to create "ultra-low power, high-performance mobile graphics IP based on AMD Radeon graphics technologies" which sounds kickass for future mobile gaming.

In this competitive technological world, most smartphone brands and telco are already gearing up for 5G connectivity. And then...there's always this one guy who's ahead of the pack. Not to say it has already happened, but Samsung is looking beyond 5G. Yes, it's 6G.

In conjunction with the Raya festivities, Samsung has released a short film on Youtube with the title “Seringgit”. The six-minute short film is based around rediscovering the true spirit of Raya, and the act of carrying on the tradition in a progressive society.

Scandals involving heavily doctored photos of people is something commonly heard of nowadays. In the near future, it is likely that we’ll be seeing scandals and fake news involving videos thanks to Samsung’s deepfake AI development.

We’ve seen smartwatches do some of the things a smartphone can do but currently they need each other to work. Now, imagine a future where you only need a smartwatch to do all the things you need a smartphone to do. That is the future Samsung is envisioning.
