Qualcomm's upcoming flagship mobile processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2, is generating significant buzz in the tech community with leaks suggesting it could reach unprecedented clock speeds. So, what should you know about it?

The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (K-KOMM) has announced that all identified 5G spectrum have been allocated to Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) for the provision of 5G services throughout Malaysia. These include the 700MHz, 3.5GHz and 28GHz bands.

At the GDC Showcase, the VP and general manager of Client XPU Products and Solutions at Intel, Roger Chandler, has shown off something that AMD should worry about. In a session, Chandler has demoed the performance of the upcoming 8-core Tiger Lake laptop CPU with it running a game at 5GHz across multiple cores.

Usually when smartphones appear on China's TENAA it almost always means that it is confirmed. However, a recent entry for the ZTE Nubia Z9 is one of the few rather dubious posts as it is reported as having 8GB of RAM and a 3.5GHz processor. One of the reasons why we think TENAA could be a bit incorrect this time around is the listed 3.5GHz processor is just a combination of the 2GHz and 1.5GHz set of quad-core processors for the octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor previously listed for the ZTE Nubia Z9. We're still unsure how 3GB RAM became 8GB of RAM but it seems unlikely that ZTE would make the jump from 4GB RAM straight to 8GB. Other rather suspicious tech specs include a dual 8MP rear camera as opposed to the 16MP rear camera previously reported (the pictures also show only a single camera). No Malaysia release dates or pricing details were revealed but ZTE is expected to launch a device on 6 May 2015 so we shouldn't have to wait long to find out for sure.

While rumoured to appear in 2014, the Samsung Galaxy S5 seems to be making the rounds as a mystery device going by the model name SM-G900F. Recently spotted on AnTuTu, this device was found to have a 2K display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution screen. Other tech specs and features included the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AC processor and chipset, 3GB od RAM and 32GB storage. Additional tech specs rumoured to come with the smartphone include a 16MP rear camera with Samsung's ISOCELL technology. Many are saying we'll probably see the Samsung Galaxy S5 in February 2014 during the MWC Expo. We're also a bit skeptical that this SM-G900F device really is the Samsung Galaxy S5 as it only manages an AnTuTu score of 29223, whereas other less highly clocked Snapdragon 800 powered smartphones tend to hit the 32000+ mark more often than not so do take this rumour with a big pinch of salt.
