From to time, we would hear stories of how the Apple Watch Series saved people from a certain situation. Now, someone was saved by Apple's new Emergency SOS after becoming stranded in Alaska.

Apple released several unique new features with the launch of the iPhone 14 series in September and one of them, emergency SOS via satellite has finally gone live. Available for use to iPhone 14 series users in the United States and Canada yesterday, it allows you to send a distress message when there are out of cellular range and WiFi coverage.

Previously, we reported that the new Crash Detection feature on the iPhone 14 series is mistaking roller coaster rides for car accidents, prompting Apple to say that “there’s no silver bullet” for the feature. Now, with the release of iOS 16.2 beta, Apple is letting users report to the company when Emergency SOS is unintentionally triggered on iPhones.

One of the stand out new features found on the Apple iPhone 14 series is the Emergency SOS via Satellite, which as the name would suggest, allows users to send a distress message when there are out of cellular range. While the feature will only be available in the United States and Canada this November, a new report suggests that Apple may bring it to other regions by the end of 2022.
