PlayStation has announced a new price increase for its PlayStation Plus subscription service in selected regions. Starting 20 May 2026, new subscribers will need to pay more for the one-month and three-month membership plans.

As you may have heard, Sony Interactive Entertainment will raise the PlayStation Plus subscription fee again. Our last report was last week, as various South American countries are going to be affected. This week, we got an email confirming that Malaysia will have it too on or after 24 June 2025.

If you own a Sony PlayStation console, you might be interested in this news. Today, PlayStation announced 3 new free games as part of the monthly PS Plus subscription. So, what should you know about it?

When it comes to streaming games, they can be usually found on Twitch and Discord in the PC community instead of on consoles. However, Sony is going to change that as it announces cloud streaming for the PlayStation 5. 

As previously announced, the subscription fees for the Sony PlayStation Plus plans have been increased and take immediate effect from today onwards. The yearly fee is RM235 for the Malaysian market and it was only yesterday that the monthly and quarterly fees were added.

As a final reminder, today is the last day to claim the PlayStation (PS) Plus Collection into your PS account. By doing so, you will be able to get lots of PS games for free such as God of War 2018, Ratchet & Clank, and many more. In total, there are 20 19 games (Persona 5 got removed, unfortunately) to claim for free with PS Plus on the PS5.

Microsoft will acquire Activision Blizzard, and it has offered a 10-year deal to Nintendo for Call of Duty. On the other hand, it's not that peaceful with Sony due to the issues mentioned in previous reports. Microsoft has also offered a similar deal to the Japanese company, but now it's discovered that an additional term might persuade Sony to sign.

Earlier this year, Sony launched new tiered plans for its PlayStation Plus subscription service and it looks like they are not as popular as the Japanese company expected. In fact, according to Sony’s latest fiscal earnings report, PlayStation Plus subscribers number have dropped by almost 2 million!

By the end of March 2022, Sony announced a brand new PlayStation (PS) Plus membership for PS gamers around the world. It was also a good thing to know that Malaysia is part of the wave with a reasonable starting monthly fee.
