If you recall, there was a rumour claiming that Apple is developing new HomePods. The new models are expected to feature a screen and a camera. Well, we may just have an idea what these would be used for in the latest tvOS update.

A report by Ming-Chi Kuo seems to suggest that Apple’s upcoming Mixed Reality Headset could weigh in at around 150g or less. Achieving such a weight is possible by adopting the hybrid Fresnel lens design, which offers improved optical performance while maintaining a lower weight.

If you recalled, it was previously rumoured that Apple could discontinue the HomePod. Instead, the company is expected to focus on developing the HomePod Mini. Now, sources claim that the company has been working on new HomePod models.

It seems that a report from Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted that Apple’s upcoming Mixed Reality headset is expected to come equipped with Eye Tracking that’s capable of recognizing irises. With that being said, there could be a huge possibility that the headset will come equipped with an iris authentication feature.

When it comes to biometric authentication, it's hard to say whether face or fingerprint recognition is more secure. But Apple seems to think the latter would definitely be needed, with a rumour of Touch ID coming back to the flagship iPhone models appearing before. Now, we also know Apple is working on a new Touch ID.

It's unfortunate that we won't be seeing the US ban lifted on Huawei anytime soon. With this, Huawei has already begun looking at other methods for sources of income such as offering their technologies to pig farming and coal mining. On top of that, the company is also licensing its 5G technology so that other brands like Apple and Samsung can pay up royalties. 

The first Apple event of 2021 is said to be held on 23 March and it looks like it's not going to happen now. According to the latest report, the event has been postponed to April. It is also worth mentioning that the news came from the same tipster who got the date wrong twice, so should we still trust him?

A previous report has claimed that Apple will hold an event to announce a bunch of new products on 23 March. The list includes the long-awaited AirTags, iPad Pro with mini-LED, AirPods 3, and a new Apple TV. Sadly, the latest source is saying that we might have to wait longer for one of the products and that's the refreshed AirPods.

It seems that a recent report hinted that the upcoming Apple Watch update could allow users to unlock their iPhones without the need to authenticate themselves via Face ID. With that being said, users won’t need to fumble around to remove their face masks which can be very useful especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

When the original HomePod was unveiled by Apple in 2018, it came with a few issues ranging from poor audio quality to staining surfaces the product was placed on. With that in mind, a report by TechCrunch seems to suggest that Apple will officially discontinue the original smart speaker and instead focus on the new HomePod Mini which is priced significantly more affordable than its predecessor.
