Sony Ericsson's smartphone regeneration continues with the stunning Arc
Until recently it was fair to say that Sony Ericsson has had a rocky ride with Android handsets. With its flagship 2010 Xperia X10 being somewhat left behind by HTC and Samsung.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc - Build:
It’s fair to say the Arc is one of the most stunning handsets we’ve seen recently. Just 8.7mm deep and weighing a lightweight 117g the slight curve the body has been ergonomically designed to sit comfortably in your hand. The back of which has a two-tone coating from dark to pale blue, which looks a lot nicer than it sounds. Best of all is the screen. At 4.2-inches it dominates the front, the dark frame ensuring it blends seamlessly into the edges.

Samsung is really going stars with the quality and quantity of the number of Android Smartphones it had announced this January 2011. While phones like Samsung Galaxy S II are competing in the high end segment with iPhones and HTCs, Samsung has also been considering the mid segment of price conscious buyers. “Gio” is the Italian word for Jewel and rightfully Samsung has played one more good move with this release.
Galaxy Gio - Build:
It is comparatively a small phone with dimensions of 58 X 111 X 12 mm and its rounded shaped edges makes the phone more stylish. It weighs about 102 grams so its very light on the hand too. Looks of Samsung galaxy Gio will surely amaze as you are having a fully featured large screen display with touch as a prime input method. Samsung Galaxy Gio is having a dotted base behind the screen that looks awesome.[ Read More ] -

Sony Ericsson has recently announced a mobile phone, called the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo. The similarity of Sony Ericsson XPERIA Neo with SE Vivaz ends with the form factor. The phone definitely looks cute and attractive. It may not be as dashing and high-end as Samsung Galaxy S II, which is also announced during the same period, but it definitely has its own sets of appeal. The handset fits well on your palm and you will surely like its semi-anodised finish along with easy to access key arrangement at the front and superb front facing camera. The cool ear piece and light sensor adds up to the benefits of the device.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo – Control:
The quality of the sensor is definitely much better than the usual VGA hardware devices that are available in plenty these days. Apart from that, the other furniture of the phone is nicely arranged as well. You can easily access the power or lock key in the right side of the phone, irrespective of the big screen display. Right under it, you can access the volume key to control the sound. In fact, you can easily adjust the volume by holding the phone to your ears.

The Dell Streak 7, a tablet that is marketed as a potent product to work, but also to play, watch video and “be watched” in video calls. The Streak 7 is also presented as an accomplished eReader and an overall multimedia device to consume music, photo and the web. Dell has always recognized that the smaller Streak 5 is an “experiment” in terms of form factor and usage model, but the 7” version goes head to head with the iPad, the Galaxy Tab and other tablets.
Dell Streak 7: DesignThe Dell Streak 7 has a clean design. It is plain and feels a bit “plastic” (especially in the back), more so than the Samsung Galaxy Tab for instance. Unlike other devices, this one has only three Android buttons: Home, Menu and Back. The Android buttons are odly placed if you use the Tablet right-handed and horizontally: your thumb lands right where the buttons are and it’s actually easier to simply rotate it by 180 degrees and hold it from the opposite side. It works great, maybe except if you use the webcam. Even then, I tend to find the Streak 7 to be a two-hands device, despite its relatively small size (when compared to the iPad). With a single hand, it feels heavier than it looks, so keep this in mind.

The Nokia C2-01 is a budget mobile phone with an attractive design. Nokia C2-01 hardly sets the pulse racing but it performed solidly in our lab tests and is a decent choice if you want a basic model.
Nokia C2-01: Design & Build
It’s a slim, light model with a black, plastic body and metal edging. This helps give it more of a premium feel than most cheap handsets. The small size means that on-screen icons can be hard to make out and that the text in ‘threaded messages’ (where the phone displays messages you’ve sent and received next to each other) is too small.

The Samsung S5670 also known as the Galaxy Fit is another one of Samsung’s entry in the plethora of mid-range Android-powered phones. Being in the same ‘Galaxy’ series of phones from Samsung, much is expected from this unit and I’m quite happy that it delivers considering the price point it’s being offered at.
Samsung Galaxy Fit is a smartphone which operates at frequencies of GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / HSDPA 900 / 2100 Mhz. The handset has a impressive 3.31 inches touchscreen display and weighs 108gms. The mobile phone is loaded with much needed connectivity features and multimedia support.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is known as Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. This is the successor to the most popular Android tablet yet – the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 - Design & Build:
The Samsung GALAXY Tab 10.1 is thin. Like really thin… at least in comparison to the other Android 3.X tablets out there. And yes, according to Samsung’s measurements it’s even thinner than the iPad 2. However, as you may have guessed, the difference isn’t noticeable to the naked eye, and if you didn’t have a measuring tape on you, you’d probably never know one was trimmer than the other. Where you will notice the difference between the two is on weight. The 1.24-pound Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 feels lighter in hand than the 1.33-pound iPad. The only ports you will find on this tablet are 3.5mm headphone and proprietary charging jacks. There is a volume rocker and a power button, but forget that microSD card slot or micro-USB port.

The HTC Incredible S is a worthy heir of HTC Desire. The device boasts a refined design with a slightly convex case.
HTC Incredible S - Start-up time:
The HTC Incredible S takes about 25 seconds to start. Overall, the device benefits from the “fast boot” technology. The smartphone can restart in five short seconds, provided you do not previously remove the battery.
Navigation can be done with greater fluidity and latency is almost non-existent. When loading an application, even when a Web connection is required, it is done almost instantaneously. The Incredible S works well with EDGE or 3G; unfortunately it doesn’t have 4G (LTE) support.[ Read More ] -

LG announced the world’s first smartphone powered by a Nvidia Tegra2 processor. At CES 2011 , several handset makers announced products based on the Tegra2 but this is the first smartphone or super-smart phone to hit the market. Lets see how the device meets our expectations.
LG Optimus 2X - Hardware:
The first thing you would notice about the phone is the huge 4 inch display which has great clarity and color reproduction. The display runs on a 800x480 px resolution. The left and right edges of the display have a minor curve towards the end and its nice to use.
Although the phone is made of plastic for the most part, it does not feel cheap like other phones like the Samsung Galaxy S. The phone is certainly big compared to other devices but since this is the world’s first dual core smartphone, we are not complaining.[ Read More ]
