Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) has been recognised globally at the prestigious Global Telecoms Awards (Glotel), whereby its joint submission with Ericsson won the ‘Best Vendor 5G Innovation’ category. An award that acknowledges innovation and excellence in advancing and transforming telecommunications, DNB received the recognition during the global awards ceremony in London last Thursday (1 December 2022).

Caretaker Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has lauded the implementation of the Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) 5G access agreement, saying that it will enable mobile network operators (MNOs) in our country to save up to RM30 billion over the next decade. The agreement is the world’s first single wholesale 5G network and allows MNOs to save on infrastructure construction costs.

It seems that U Mobile has cleared the air and announced that the company has signed the 5G Access Agreement (AA) with Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) on 30 October 2022. Before this, it was rumoured the orange telco jumped ship but that's not the case anymore.

Today, Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) officially announced that a new Access Agreement (AA) had been made with Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) for its National 5G Wholesale Network Product. According to the official document here, the AA will be in effect for 10 years until 6 October 2032.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Aziz has revealed that all 6 local telcos have reached a consensus on the access agreement with Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) to lease 5G services. The telco companies are Telekom Malaysia (TM), YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YES), Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, Celcom Axiata Bhd, Maxis Bhd and U Mobile Sdn Bhd.

Following some 2 years of negotiations, 4 mobile network operators (MNOs) have executed share subscription agreements (SSAs) for a total of 65 per cent equity stake in Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB). The four MNOs are YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YES), Telekom Malaysia (TM), Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) and Celcom Axiata Bhd (Celcom).

Penang has become the first state in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia to have 5G network coverage following its launch in the state yesterday. During the launching ceremony in George Town, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said that 151 sites have been identified to launch the 5G spectrum and will be part of the first phase of the 5G implementation plan by Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB).
