Google has officially announced Android 17, rolling out to Pixel devices first before it hits other eligible devices. The update introduces floating app Bubbles for fast multitasking, the creator-focused Screen Reactions tool, an optimized 50/50 foldable gaming mode with native controller remapping, and more. We've already got the update on our Pixel 10 Pro here in Malaysia but be warned as it's a big 1.54GB download.

Earlier this year, a new phone that most people didn't think would exist in 2026 appeared in the news. Unlike typical smartphones, the Clicks Communicator is built for distraction-free communication. Although the phone isn't out yet, Clicks has revealed some new changes ahead of its launch later this year.

Google recently announced new features coming for Android 17 which is expected to arrive sometime in Q2 2026 (June or July). These features include a larger Instagram for tablets, built-in Screen Reactions and extra editing tools. Pixels will get these features first but no exact Malaysia release dates just yet.

Google has chosen “Cinnamon Bun” as the internal dessert-themed codename for Android 17, tied to API level 37.0. This follows internal naming traditions that began with earlier versions, such as Vanilla Ice Cream for Android 15 and Baklava for Android 16, although the company dropped public dessert names after Android 10.

If you are looking for a smart TV aside from popular tech brands such as Sony, Samsung, and LG, you might want to consider Philips. Just today, it has been announced that the Philips 7000 series 4K UHD Android TVs are now available in Malaysia with sizes from 43-70-inch. 

Google’s next big release codenamed ‘Taimen’ has been spotted on Geekbench with impressive scores. The device will also probably run on Android's latest OS, Android O.

If your phone is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread – you may want to either find a way to update it or replace it pretty soon as Google has announced that their support for smartphones running Gingerbread would end by early 2017.

ASUS Malaysia continues it's Android 4.4 KitKat roll-out for many of it's devices with the Fonepad 7 FE170CG tablet. Users can now download it via their Firmware Over-the-Air or FOTA update. To do so manually, go to Settings > About > System Update but as long as you are connected to the Internet you should get your FOTA update notification soon. Just in case, this latest system firmware has a build-number of KVT49L.WW_fonepad-11.2.3.17.3-20141006 release-keys. Further enticing users, ASUS Malaysia have now dropped the price for the Fonepad 7 FE170CG 8GB version down to RM429 from it's original pricing of RM599.
