A Bursa Malaysia filing by Datasonic Group Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd (DTSB) revealed that it has been given a contract extension for the supply of passport chips to the Immigration Department by the Home Ministry. DTSB has been given a 12-month extension from 1 December 2024 to 30 November 2025, with an additional contract value of RM104.78 million.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail today revealed that Malaysians will soon have the option to apply for a passport with a decade-long validity. He added that the Immigration Department is ready to introduce a 50-page passport with double the validity period as it is currently, like the ones by other Southeast Asian countries.

The Selangor Immigration Department (JIM) has announced the introduction of MyOnline Passport Kiosk at the Shah Alam Urban transformation Centre (UTC).
