Samsung has some big plans for it's future smartphones as it may be offering 4K displays, 16MP ISOCELL cameras and 64-bit processors for Samsung smartphones debuting after 2014. While the 64-bit processor and 4K display news looks to be sourced from Samsung itself the 16MP ISOCELL camera news looks to be confirmed from Korean media. According to Samsung they are currently developing 4K Ultra HD resolution displays for smartphones with 3840 x 2160 pixel resolutions. These 800+ppi smartphones could come in 2015 while the other planned features such as the 16MP ISOCELL cameras and 64-bit Exynos processors could appear in 2014 model Samsung smartphones. Tech specs and details about the 16MP ISOCELL camera includes the fact that it may include wide dynamic range and auto focus but it will still be the standard 1.12 micron pixel size. Also, there is no mention of any anti-shake or optical image stabilization (OIS) features for the camera sensor as earlier reported but things could still change when next year rolls around.

Samsung is one of only 2 major makers of flexible displays in the world and has since dominated the smartphone world with it's various smartphone models. Following a roadmap image at one of their presentations, it appears that Samsung may come out with foldable smartphones from 2015. It also appears that more curved display devices are on the way as the road map notes that curved displays will range from 2013 to early 2014 and bended displays will follow after in 2014 to 2015. While Samsung did not elaborate on what it defines as bended or foldable, it does show an example of a bended display graphic which sort of rolls the display. We assume that if it is foldable, this means you can flatten it down so it forms a crease, making for a thinner device. Samsung also went on to show how such foldable display devices might work and even came up with an interesting foldable (or is it bended?) concept device video which appears to be nothing much more than a thin sheet of foldable plastic. Check out the pics and video for yourself in this article.

Prices start from $2124 (RM6755) and can reach as high as $10000+ (RM31790) as you can further customize the device with crystals, diamonds and other precious bling. You can also expect the tablets to also weigh a fair bit more than the normal tablets. As usual, there was no Malaysia release dates or pricing but they'd probably ship here if you throw enough money at them. The Nokia Lumia 520 remains one of the most popular smartphones due to it's fairly low price and good tech specs and features. It seems though that it's replacement, the Nokia Lumia 525 is coming soon to Malaysia, having just been certified by TENAA of China. The certification doesn't reveal too much in terms of tech specs or features but it does mention that it will have 1GB of RAM instead of the 512MB currently available in the Lumia 520. The certification goes on further to state that it is a music oriented smartphone, so we could perhaps expect some better audio capabilities such as a better speaker or a Beats like audio filter. According to industry sources the Nokia Lumia 525 should get it's official announcement by the end of December 2013 so we can expect it to have a Malaysia release date sometime around or after next month. The smartphone should be available in black, orange, yellow and white. Unfortunately, there wasn't any pricing details just yet.

Kazam is a company consisting of ex-HTC executives who broke off from the company to create another smartphone company. According to them, they wanted to offer "stunning design, robust hardware, and intuitive technology underpinned with improved customer service". The company has since announced 7 new smartphones, 2 of which are slotted for their higher-end Kazam Thunder range and another 5 for their lower-end Trooper range. Both the Thunder and Trooper models don't really have very impressive tech specs so we're guessing that the Thunder is aimed at the midrange while the Troopers are for the entry-level. So far, tech specs for the Kazam Thunder Q4.5 include a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 4.5-inch 854 x 48 resolution display, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera and 4GB of storage plus microSD support. The other Kazam Thunder will be called the Q5.0 which could have a 5-inch screen but other tech specs for that model haven't been revealed just yet.

The LG G Flex is the company's first curved smartphone using a flexible plastic substrate as the 6-inch screen's material. While it is curved concave from top to bottom some new videos show that if you press it down hard enough, the G Flex actually does bend and flex with so far, no effect on the smartphone (although doing it too much could eventually break it, we assume). Other tech specs in clude a 6-inch 720 x 1280 display, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 20GB of RAM, 32GB storage and a 3500 mAh battery. In addition to actually being able to flex, the G Flex also has a self-repair backside so it can survive a pocket ful of keys with ease. While there isn't any specific Malaysia release date or pricing available just yet LG have said that the "global announcement for G Flex is in the works". Check out the LG G flex in the videos in this article.

While Apple have yet to work on anything larger than 9.7-inches for their iPad tablets, rumours are going about that a 12.9-inch Apple iPad is currently being tested at Foxconn, which manufactures most of Apple's products. This rumour follows another rumour that the larger iPad could have an 11.4-inch screen but neither size has been confirmed as yet. According to rumours the larger iPad is headed for educational and enterprise markets but there were no other tech specs or features available. While there definitely isn't any Malaysia release dates or pricing, the larger 12.9-inch iPad could be released in March 2014 with a possible Malaysia release date on or after the aforementioned date.

While it wouldn't be the first time Google accidentally leaked one of their own devices, some sharp eyed industry watchers saw what could have been an 8-inch android tablet on the Android Apps and Entertainment page. Many surmised that it could be the Google Nexus 8 as it offered much thinner bezels but a more or less similar form factor to the Google Nexus 7 (2013 edition). Google has since made changes to this image by adding on thicker bezels to make it look more like the 7-inch Google Nexus 7. While it could have just as easily been a simple goof on the part of a careless graphic designer, we're thinking that the post-edit more or less confirms that we could be seeing an 8-inch tablet or Google Nexus 8 pretty soon.

The Lytro-like refocus ability first offered by the Nokia Lumia 1020 can no be enjoyed by other Lumia owners with the new Nokia Refocus app. Working like a camera app, it takes several photos using different depths of the same image. You can then choose to refocus on any spot in the picture, something which Nokia has made interactive. From our brief hands-on with the app, it works much like a filter, sharpening up the focus point and blurring out the other image depths for a very interesting Lytro camera-like effect. Bear in mind though, that if you take a blurred shot, the Nokia Refocus app won't be able to do much asides from sharpening an already blurry photo. You can easily focus back on everything, returning the photo back to normal as well as do a colour-popup as well. According to Nokia, the app is compatible with the Nokia Lumia 920, Lumia 925, Lumia 928, Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1520. The app can be downloaded at the Windows Phone store under the Nokia Collection.
