Previously, we reported on Google’s plans to introduce standalone Google Maps navigation support on Wear OS. True to its words, the tech giant recently announced that turn-by-turn Google Maps navigation on Wear OS without a smartphone is now available to users. 

Google has revealed that it will be merging its Google Maps and Waze teams under one department to cut costs and consolidate operations. Google Maps for iOS recently rolled out a quality-of-life update that makes it easier for users to share their current real-time location. Now, instead of navigating through the menu, you can just easily tap the blue dot signifying your current position on Google Maps to access and execute actions based on your current GPS location on the app.
