When the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 was revealed on 24 November, it gained quite a buzz over its mighty 64-bit Intel Atom X5-Z85000 processor with 2GB dual-channel LPDDR3 RAM. Not to mention, the rest of its tech specs are also most impressive. To recap, the device has a 16GB and 64GB internal storage variant, a 7.9-inch IPS display with 2048 x 1536 resolution, 8MP and 5MP for the main and front camera, supports 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity, runs on MIU7 and the battery is 6190 mAh.

We have already covered how Xiaomi is teasing us about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro and a possible appearance of Xiaomi Mi 5 at a press conference (24 November). Now we have reports of another teaser released by Xiaomi’s president that suggest something else will show up at the event too - the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 tablet.
In the tech specs corner, according to the GeekBench database the tablet will feature a quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor with 2.24GHz, 2GB RAM power, and Android 5.1. There’s also a rumour that Mi Pad 2 has a dual-boot system, running on either Android 5.1 or Windows 10. And from the teaser image above, the Mi Pad 2 sure looks pretty. The body material looks like it is made of metal with smooth rounded corners and edges, a big step away from the Xiaomi Mi Pad’s plastic body. The camera is also shown at the corner, along with the power and volume buttons at the side.

The upcoming Xiaomi MiPad 2 tablet has had a number of rumours about it crop up, not least of which include tech specs and features. While the previous MiPad packed in a 2.2GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, the MiPad 2 could come with a 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor instead. We expect this to be partly becaue that Intel Atom processor is 64-bit and also because Intel is making it really easy for manufacturers to get their mobile processors. Other tech specs and features include a 7.9-inch display with 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution along with 2GB RAM and Android 4.4.4. Leaked pictures indicate that the MiPad 2 will have a less rounded corners look but will still be thin and slim. No news yet on Malaysia release dates or pricing but the Xiaomi MiPad 2 is expected during CES 2015 so we shouldn't have to wait very long.
