OnePlus’ first-ever foldable, the OnePlus Open made its debut yesterday with some impressive specs, including dual screens with a whopping 2800 nits peak brightness. Well, it looks like the company ain’t resting on its laurels as today, OnePlus, together with sister company OPPO and BOE are releasing a new 3000 nits smartphone display.

The HUAWEI Mate 50 series could be around the corner, with quite some of its rumours popping up recently. Yesterday, we only saw the news saying that the upcoming devices might get powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G chip. Today, we received a new one claiming they will debut with BOE's new flexible display.

After this incident, display manufacturer BOE might have ruined its opportunities with Apple. According to the latest report, BOE has gotten caught by the iPhone maker as it quietly lowered the specs on the iPhone displays it made.

It has long been established that the global chip shortage has far-reaching consequences. A lot of devices and components use silicon chips, so a shortage could cause production to stall. That seems to be what's happening to this Apple's iPhones this year.

BOE Technology recently announced that they’ve made the world’s first display with a 500Hz+ refresh rate. Offering a 27-inch screen with FHD pixel resolutions, the prototype display still doesn’t have any name just yet but it will use a high mobility 0xide  backplane and support 8Lane eDP output, true 8 bit output and feature a 1ms response rate.

When Apple designed the iPhone 12 series, OLED panels from BOE was part of the plan. Things didn't quite work on at the time, but it seems like the company will be catching up at last. Sources claim that BOE is now back in Apple's plan and will help supply the Apple with OLED panels.

It is worth mentioning that Apple doesn't only source from one manufacturer when it comes to building the iPhone 12 series. The company currently has Samsung and LG Display supplying OLED display panels to them. Other than the two, there's also BOE trying to join the supply chain but has failed. Now, it is reported the Chinese manufacturer couldn't pass Apple's validation the second time for some reasons.

If you're a tech enthusiast, you would know about Samsung's AMOLED and LG's OLED displays, but have you ever heard of BOE's OLED displays? That's right, there is a new player in the market and the last time we mentioned them was a rumour that Apple could be using their materials for the upcoming iPhone 12 series. It's also reported that the Huawei Mate 40 series would be using them. 

Today, @AppleInsider just reported some new juicy iPhone 12 series rumours on Twitter. According to the source, it is reported that the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max could sport 6GB of RAM and a bunch of other tech specs revealed below. 6GB is a normal number figure on Android, but let's not forget it operates differently on iOS.

Joining the foldable screen bandwagon is Chinese screen manufacturer, BOE. A GIF of the device was posting by Chinese telecommunications operator, China Unicorn show the screen folded from the middle and quickly switching from phone to tablet mode. The foldable display was showcased at the Xinhua News Agency Chengdu New Media Conference in China.
