Previously, we shared how the Microsoft Windows ‘Crowdstrike’ is causing global system outages worldwide, including at major airports and airlines such as KLIA and AirAsia. Well, the outage also affected our rail system, as KTMB has announced service disruptions too.

Everyone in Segamat is in for a treat. Recently, KTMB has already announced the transfer of operations from the Segamat temporary station to the (New) Segamat station which started at 7 AM this morning (15 May 2024). That said, what should you know about it?

Previously, we reported that the open payment system is now operational at KTM Komuter stations, with payments via MyDebit incurring an RM30 temporary pre-authorisation. Now, KTMB has announced further details on its plans to improve the system, including support for Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.

Lo and behold, the system has been operational at Komuter Klang Valley and North since 11 November, with KTMB also clarifying how the system works for debit cards.

Applicable from now until August 2024, you can get an RM3 discount for each ride to and from the station, amounting to up to RM6 savings daily.

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced that it is implementing a new ticketing system which allows users to book long-distance trains up to 6 months in advance. The new concept is being introduced in phases and involves its Electric Train Service (ETS) and Intercity trains.
