Today, Digital National Berhad (DNB) has announced that it has chosen to partner with Ericsson to develop 5G mobile network in Malaysia. It is said that Ericsson was chosen due to its lower cost at RM11 billion, compared to others which offer their works at around RM15 billion in the industry.

In this week's tech news recap, Samsung stole the show by unpacking the latest Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+! Compared with the predecessor, it has several new features such as the S Pen Air Action, AR Doodle, PlayGalaxy Link, 3D Scanner and many more. Samsung Malaysia quickly soon announced the official local price starting from RM3699 and the series are now on pre-order which sold out quickly. Dayum son! We can't wait to get our hands on it for the review!!
Besides that, HONOR Malaysia shortly announced the HONOR 20 Pro price for RM2299 (not too shabby). If you're thinking of getting one, we just released our review so do check out the camera capabilities (#satisfied). Also, Huawei revealed its own HarmonyOS which can potentially replace Android and they should just do it anyway as a competition. Lastly, some #khabarbaik announcement by TM on new price slash for all Streamyx users at RM69/month and Unifi Air for RM79/month. Pretty cool, now onto the NewsBytes below.

Today, Celcom Axiata Berhad has signed a new agreement on joining IC5G at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). IC5G is an initiative by UTM and Ericsson back in 2015, where its research and development on 5G technology is conducted for the benefit of students and industry professionals.

What a hectic week, as we mentioned from our previous Newsbytes, there were several new smartphones launches over the past two weeks and the biggest highlight is obviously the Huawei P30 Series, which has a crazy zoom in feature that can go up to 50x with the P30 Pro, whereas the P30 can go up to 30x. Also not forgetting the new vivo V15 Pro release in Malaysia on Super Brand Day, and of course - the Samsung Galaxy S10 series has officially launched in Malaysia!

This was witnessed by Yang Berhormat Dato' Jailani Johari, Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia today, at Celcom's headquarters.

Today, Ericsson was announced as one of the 13 winners of a United Nations climate change award for a ground-breaking technology project in Malaysia that uses sensors to provide near real-time information to restore dwindling mangrove plantations. Known as the Connected Mangroves project, it is the first of its kind in the world that combines cloud, machine-to-machine and mobile broadband to help the local community in Selangor, Malaysia, to better manage the growth of new mangrove saplings.
