Kazam is a company consisting of ex-HTC executives who broke off from the company to create another smartphone company. According to them, they wanted to offer "stunning design, robust hardware, and intuitive technology underpinned with improved customer service". The company has since announced 7 new smartphones, 2 of which are slotted for their higher-end Kazam Thunder range and another 5 for their lower-end Trooper range. Both the Thunder and Trooper models don't really have very impressive tech specs so we're guessing that the Thunder is aimed at the midrange while the Troopers are for the entry-level. So far, tech specs for the Kazam Thunder Q4.5 include a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 4.5-inch 854 x 48 resolution display, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera and 4GB of storage plus microSD support. The other Kazam Thunder will be called the Q5.0 which could have a 5-inch screen but other tech specs for that model haven't been revealed just yet.

Confirming tech specs mentioned previously, the Sony Alpha 7 will offer a 24.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor, a BIONZ X processor a low-pass filter and all at $1700 (RM5374) for just the body. Both look nearly identical with an awesome magnesium alloy build and have fairly small footprints for full-frame camera sensors and should make good options for the professional and enthusiast photographer. If you're looking for a kit the Sony Alpha 7 includes a 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 lens at $2000 (RM6323) while other lenses will be made available in later months. While it was leaked complete with tech specs, the Asus FonePad 7 finally gets the official announcement. Going for more or less the same look and feel of tablet with phone capabilities, the FonePad 7 takes up where the original Asus FonePad left off. Featuring a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 with tech specs that include a 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel screen, a 5MP rear camera, 8GB/16GB/32GB storage, 1.2MP front camera, 10.5mm thinness, weighs 340g and has a 10-hour battery, the FonePad 7 ups the internals somewhat by offering the better screen. Hopefully the revamp won't see too much of an increase in price as the original FonePad was rather well known for it's budget capabilities. Unfortunately, there isn't any news yet on pricing for the Asus FonePad 7 and no Malaysia release dates too. Stay tuned and we'll keep you posted as to any new developments.

Apart from a tablet and a phablet, apparently Nokia has 7 new Nokia product codenames which include "Bandit, Lanai, Orion, Pegasus, Rivendell, Shorty, Siruis". While Bandit refers to the Nokia phablet, the other 6 codenames are still not matched up to any other device. Some sources are saying that Rivendell will be the codename of the rumoured Nokia Windows RT tablet and who is to say that one of the other codenames could be for a Nokia Windows 8 / Surface Pro tablet as well. Since all of the known codenames seem to be referring to Nokia Windows products, it could be a safe bet to surmise that the other codenames refer to more Nokia Windows devices, perhaps in the form of some more Lumia smartphones. However, codenames in Nokia will probably remain just that as Nokia's naming conventions have always been based on numbers and not codenames. They do indicate 7 new Nokia products though which is still something to look forward to for Nokia fans.

Samsung recently trademarked 7 new names under the USPTO (United States Patents and Trademarks Office) including Samsung Micro, Mobile Samsung 5G, Samsung Fit, Samsung Micro, Samsung Expo, Samsung Go, Samsung Pro and the S MUSICIAN. Quite obviously, the trademarks are for different things as the Mobile Samsung 5G indicates the 5G network that the company was said to have been working on (and supposedly already completed). The Samsung Expo could indicate a yearly event of some sort while the Samsung Micro, Go, Fit and Pro all sound like device names, perhaps for smartphones, fitness devices, tablets and other similar things. The S MUSICIAN on the other hand sounds like another 'S' feature ready to come out for Samsung's already extensive list of 'S' features, perhaps a ringtone maker for their upcoming smartphones. What do you think these names could be?
