A few hours ago, Valve officially announced three major hardware announcements under its “Steam” brand. Alongside the Steam Deck, the company has added the Steam Machine gaming PC, the Steam Controller gamepad, and the Steam Frame VR headset. Here's everything you need to know about them.

Valve has announced Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), the replacement for the popular first-person shooter title Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO). Available in a limited test starting today, CS2 is expected to be officially released as early as June 2023.

The Valve Steam Deck has been touted as being the product to change the way we see handheld gaming consoles and indeed, it has been immensely popular since launch. In fact, the console is so popular that Valve has alluded that it will be making a next-gen version of the Steam Deck in the future.

Valve today announced that it is updating the Steam Mobile App to add new features, which include QR code sign-in, smarter notifications, an improved Library and multi-account support. Rebuilt on a new framework and a modernised design, the Steam Mobile App is now in beta and users can join the beta programme to test it.

Last year, Valve announced that it would release the Steam Deck in February 2022. The company wanted to ship the first batch of its handheld console last year, but supply issues slowed things down. Now, Valve has confirmed the actual release date.

Today, Valve made a surprise announcement on a new handheld gaming console that we never saw it coming. Dubbed as the Steam Deck, it's a portable gaming console just like the Nintendo Switch but filled with video games that are available on Steam. The starting price is $399 (~RM1676) and it's scheduled to ship by the end of the year.

For Valve, Half-Life seemed to be a series that would no longer be revisited before they announced Half-Life: Alyx as a VR game in 2016. But now there's a possibility that a full-length non-VR Half-Life game may be in development if rumours are true.
