Mar 22, 2023Previously, we reported on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s promise to reconsider Touch ’n Go’s monopoly and how users may soon be able to pay for public transport using debit and credit cards. Well, another major announcement was made in regard to breaking Touch ’n Go’s monopoly, whereby users of 5 highways will be able to pay tolls using debit and credit cards by this September.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi has announced that 12 more Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology lanes will be added by PLUS Expressway Berhad by mid-April this year. This is following complaints by highway users that a lack of RFID lanes is causing congestion at toll plazas.
