CelcomDigi today announced a slew of promotions across its Postpaid, Prepaid, and Fibre offerings in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration. Most notably, these include free 5G smartphones when signing up for a device bundle and an extra RM240 rebate for the Apple iPhone 14 series via selected packages.

Like the rest of the telcos, Celcom also announced that it has subscribed to Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB)'s 5G single wholesale network. Starting from 1 November 2022, Celcom customers, including Celcom Business customers, who have 5G-enabled devices and are subscribed to selected Celcom postpaid and prepaid plans, will automatically be able to access 5G network services within 5G coverage areas.

There have been some significant developments in the rollout of the 5G network in Malaysia recently. Previously, we reported that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) is meeting today on Digital Nasional Berhad’s (DNB) terms of the 5G agreement and now, it look like Celcom is ready to offer 5G network trials for its users as early as next month.
