When it comes to web browsers, Google Chrome is currently one of the most widely used. Even some Mac users prefer it over Safari browser. But Google Chrome has an issue with Mac devices where battery performance is poor. Now, reports claim that Google has pledged to address this on-going problem.

Often, people don't realise that something they use could be improved until it improves. And it seems that Chrome for Android could be getting a permanent upgrade next year. Sources claim that Google plans to permanently transition to 64-bit apps for Android devices, with the Android version of Chrome one of those that will be improved.

Based on a statement by nytimes.com, it seems that Google was hit with a class-action lawsuit demanding more than USD 5 billion (~RM21.4 billion) in compensation. This is due to the fact that allegations were thrown at Google for tracking users, even while they are using incognito mode.

The Google I/O event may have been cancelled, but Google is still expected to launch some new products within summer 2020. One of the devices to be released is a new media streaming device. It's expected to be an Android TV dongle that will replace the Chromecast Ultra and its currently code-named 'Sabrina'.

Microsoft recently posted on their blog where they unveiled “Surf Game”,  which is playable simply by typing in “edge://surf” in the search bar. It is best to note that it is only possible to play the aforementioned game via the Microsoft Edge browser which can be downloaded via their official website.

Based on a blog entry posted on the Chromium Blog, Google will remove ads that hogs too much of the device’s system resource, making the user experience much more enjoyable especially for those with limited internet data. This is due to the fact that Google recently discovered that some of the ads use up much more battery and bandwidth than usual, which can be a problem especially for those who signed up with telco that provides very limited internet data.

For those of you who like opening tonnes of tabs and never close them, you'll soon have a default way to manage them. Google has announced that the Tab Groups feature will be coming in the next major Chrome browser update, which is the version 83 update scheduled for next week.

If you're a Google Chrome mobile user, you'd be glad to know that Google is actually working on this for the mobile app version, especially for the Google Search results page.

But Apple makes its own chips and has benefitted from having that control. Now, Google is following suit as rumours claim that the company is developing an in-house chipset for future Pixel smartphones and Chromebook devices.
