In this short news, Grab Malaysia announced that their Ride Cover insurance package will be coming to the Grab app soon and it's now live. As we reported before, each passenger can opt-in for the package and pay RM0.35/ride only but it gets better - it now comes with a Free COVID-19 coverage as well.

New update - Respecting the latest update from our Prime Minister announced this afternoon, Grab will be suspending the “self pick-up” option which was launched today. Grab is supportive of the government’s initiatives in flattening the curve of Covid-19 and will continue to work closely with relevant authorities during these trying times.
It's now Day 6 and Grab Malaysia have announced more updates on their services during this Movement Restriction Order period. While we are still able to go out to grocery stores and hypermarkets to resupply our food stock, we can now do our own "Self-Pickup" on GrabFood as well as Pasar on GrabMart. Here's how it works.

Just yesterday, Grab Malaysia announced that their services will go on as usual and same goes to foodpanda. However, foodpanda also announced that they have implemented a new contactless delivery method and it seems that Grab Malaysia will follow suit with a bunch of other new updates as well.

While this may look surreal, the Movement Restriction will begin from 18 March until 31 March 2020 as an initiative to minimize the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak. The government has ordered all private businesses to be closed down until further notice and many were wondering if Grab will cease operation. Thankfully, they are not.

Today, Grab Malaysia have announced a new insurance deal called Ride Cover. According to their blog page, you only need to pay RM0.35/ride and this will cover an accident during your eligible Grab ride in Malaysia or even if your ride comes late after 15 minutes. Grab Indonesia has recently announced that they will start utilizing electric vehicles such as the Hyundai IONIQ from today onwards at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Terminal 3. This initiative will go hand in hand with Indonesia’s vision in developing an electric vehicle ecosystem, which would be beneficial to the environment.

Grab Malaysia has announced that those who sign up to become a new Grab driver-partner before 31 March 2020 will be awarded up to RM800 in bonus and subsidies. Grab has officially announced that they will be supporting the Malaysian Government in encouraging cashless payments adoption, by rewarding customers up to three times more GrabRewards Points to those who pay via GrabPay. Unfortunately, those who pay via cash will not be eligible for the extra points as it only applies to GrabPay transactions.

The Philippines is set to launch GrabPay Card during the first quarter of 2020 after it launches in Singapore last year. Today, Grab Malaysia mentioned it is interested in launching the numberless GrabPay Card locally within this year.
