At MWC 2026 in Barcelona, U Mobile has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to collaborate on digital innovation initiatives powered by 5G-Advanced (5G-A), artificial intelligence (AI), and emerging technologies. The partnership aims to accelerate the development of advanced applications aligned with U Mobile’s digital transformation roadmap, while supporting Malaysia’s broader digital economy ambitions.

Guess what? It's the end of February and the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 kicks off later tonight. However, some companies are already starting to reveal details of their new products. Huawei is one of them, unveiling a total of four new devices to the world.

With all the big companies pulling out from the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2020, it remains a question whether the event would still be held. Today, we’ve also heard that the organiser GSMA is going to have a meeting this Friday to decide the fate of MWC 2020. However, there are still companies making confirmations of their appearances at the event through official announcements, and one of them is Huawei.

Based on a statement by Gizmochina.com, it seems that Huawei is expected to unveil a new and improved Huawei Mate X smartphone during MWC 2020 next year. The device is expected to come with several improvements such as a better chipset, a more durable screen and hinge mechanism.

Yesterday, news that the Huawei P40 series would have a March 2020 release surfaced. But that's not the last we're going to hear from Huawei this year. We already know that the Huawei Mate Xs is going to share that same release window, but now we also know that successor to the Mate X will appear in next year's Mobile World Congress, according to TechRadar.

During the MWC 2019, aside from showcasing the world's first foldable 5G Huawei Mate X smartphone, the MateBook X Pro (2019), MateBook 14 and some new 5G devices, Huawei also did another announcement, saying that the company is planning to build a new digital service platform called the Huawei AppTouch.

The Mobile World Congress 2019 which was held in Barcelona, Spain saw many releases as well as technological advancements, particularly in 5G. This new network brings many benefits over the current 4G network such as lower latency, higher bandwidth, lower battery consumption and more. Maxis and Huawei have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at this year's Mobile World Congress to accelerate 5G in Malaysia. Looking to collaborate and cooperate on full-fledged 5G trials with end-to-end systems and services, the event saw Gokhan Ogut, CEO-designate and Morten Bangsgaard, Chief Technology officer for Maxis signing with  Guo Ping, Huawei Rotating Chairman, Jeffery Liu, Huawei President of the Southern Pacific Region, and Michael Yuan, CEO of Huawei Malaysia.

Huawei recently revealed a sneak peek at their upcoming foldable display device, stating that it will use BOE flexible displays and fully support 5G connectivity. The still unnamed device looks to have a 5-inch display when folded (and appears to have an in-display punch speaker vent and fingerprint sensor) but when unfolded, it will have an 8-inch display. We expect it to be powered by a Kirin 980 chipset.

Huawei recently came out with an invite for something coming a day before MWC 2019 (which is 25 February 2019 until 28 February 2019). Set for 24 February 2019, the invite shows something bending, so our first reaction would be "is it Huawei's foldable smartphone!?" but when you think again, the Huawei Matebook series usually gets revealed around MWC as well, so it could also be a hint at an upcoming laptop.
