The recent news of the Nokia 6 made quite a few "mehs" with most of those directed at the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor it uses. Other tech specs like the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage didn't get as much flak so we thought we'd check out the Snapdragon 430 processor using our similarly powered ASUS ZenFone 3 Max 5.5 or ZC553KL. Granted, there are differences between the two phones which you can see with our comparison tool, but the Nokia 6 does have the same display and more memory, so the differences in performance should be negligable if not better.

After quite a few leaks, the ASUS ZenFone Go (ZC500TG) is now available in the Malaysian ASUS Store for RM519. While the cheaper ASUS ZenFone C can still be seen on the site, it doesn't have stock and looks like it will probably be phased out soon. Despite being a bit pricier the ZenFone Go offers a bit more in terms of tech specs which includes a 1.3Ghz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, 5-inch 720p display, 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and 2MP front camera. You can check out our comparison tool of the ASUS ZenFone Go vs the ASUS ZenFone C for all the features or check out the ASUS Store Malaysia for the ZenFone Go. In a surprise announcement during the ASUS ZenFone Selfie launch, ASUS Malaysia have confirmed our earlier report that the ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe is coming to Malaysia for RM1599. This version packs in all the highest-end features such as 4GB RAM and 64-bit 2.3Ghz Intel Atom Z3580 processor along with 128GB of built-in storage plus up to 128GB microSD support. It also features the latest polygon faceted backplate from the ASUS Illusion series of patterned backplates in purple and white for a more striking look. Available as soon as next week, the ZenFone Deluxe maintains a 13MP PixelMaster rear camera and 5MP front camera along with 4G LTE Cat 6 and Dual SIM Dual Standby support. The 5.5-inch display is a full HD resolution. Also on display was the ZenFone Go, said to be the replacement for the lower-end ZenFones. Priced for around RM509 the smartphone feels slim with a matte back but retaining the same premium metal features like the concentric circle front panel and metallic looking buttons. No news about when the ZenFone Go might be coming but we expect it to be soon. Overall, it still feels premium but do check out our hands-on photos in this article.

Rumours have surfaced about a new ASUS ZenFone for the entry-level market called the ASUS ZenFone Go. Coming in pastel colours, this new ZenFone follows the same design as the ZenFone 2 complete with rear volume controls. This position is currently held by the ASUS ZenFone C with its 4.5-inch display. This new ZenFone Go is rumoured to come with a 5-inch display with at least a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. Other tech specs include a MediaTek MT6582 processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB storage, 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. Despite the camera upgrades, it is expected to feature just 3G connectivity. While there are no Malaysia release dates or pricing details we suspect that the ZenFone Go is just for selected markets and won't be coming to Malaysia since we've yet to see any Mediatek powered ZenFones here just yet. It is expected by the end of July 2015 though, and we could see an Intel powered ZenFone Go for Malaysia instead, perhaps powered by the budget friendly and 3G modem integrated Intel Atom x3. Stay tuned for more developments.
