It has been a while since we got a report from Opensignal about Malaysia's Mobile Network Experience performance. According to the latest Opensignal Global Network Excellence Index, Malaysia’s mobile network experience slipped two spots, from 36th to 38th globally. Despite the drop, Malaysia still ranks in the top 10 across the Asia‑Pacific region.

In Opensignal's latest Malaysia Mobile Network Experience Report, we have noticed some interesting insights. Long story short, this year's results show a big jump in download speeds by Malaysians thanks to 5G rollouts.

Another year, another annual mobile award by Opensignal. This time, Opensignal is changing to another spectrum focusing on 5G since most regions have access to it already. So how did Malaysia do in Opensignal's 5G Global Mobile Network Experience Awards 2024?

In the past few reports, Opensignal has openly commended Malaysia's 5G network connectivity. For instance, it was only recently that OpenSignal said Malaysia has the second-fastest 5G download speed in Asia. However, we aren't doing so great in terms of network reliability. 

Malaysians might be surprised by this news. According to OpenSignal, Malaysia has the second-fastest 5G download speed in the Asia Pacific region. So, what should you know about it?

Opensignal would usually come up with a report that usually involves all the telcos in Malaysia. But today, its report only involves Digi's 4G network, particularly on its mobile internet performance after merging with Celcom.

It's been a while since we had a report on our local telcos' mobile network performance. But Opensignal is back again with another one. The data collection started from June until the end of August 2023 and this is what Opensignal says in the latest Mobile Network Experience Report in Malaysia.

Today, Opensignal is back with another new report on the Impact of 5G on the Malaysian Mobile Experience. In this report, it's said that the Malaysian mobile experience has improved significantly since November 2022. This includes Availability, Download Speed, Upload Speed and Games Experience scores increasing both for 5G and overall.

Opensignal, a website specialising in mobile network performance measurement and analysis recently lauded Malaysia as a global leader in 5G connectivity thanks to our fast and reliable networks. This is according to its latest “Benchmarking the Global 5G Experience” study released in June which ranked our country favourably in multiple categories.
