It’s even more affordable than the Redmi Note 3 which we reviewed last year. Ok, sure it’s really affordable but does that price equal quality? As announced yesterday, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 has been officially launched in Malaysia for an affordable price of RM799 featuring respectable tech-specs such as a 14nm FinFET chip and Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, which Xiaomi claims to have improved thermal heat reduction by 20-25%, along with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display, 13MP rear camera (BSI CMOS, PDFA), and a 4100 mAh battery pack. As previously mentioned, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is officially launched today at Online Mi Store Lazada retail outlets and other authorised distributors (such as ERA International Network Sdn Bhd) nationwide. The company's Redmi Note series is now made in all premium metal body, the first device (in any of their series) to be in black in colour, 2.5D curved glass, as well as having a 14nm LPP FinFET chip allowing power efficiency by 20% resulting thermal reduction. Just as teased earlier, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 just got its offical marching orders for Malaysia for RM799. Tech specs include a metal body complete with rear fingerprint sensor, and features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display that is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset, paired with up to 3GB of RAM and up to 32GB of expandable internal storage. It also has a 13MP PDAF rear camera and 5MP front camera. Keeping the lights on, is a 4100mAh battery charged by a 5V2A charger. The Redmi Note 4 phones pre-order starts on 12AM, 10th March. It will officially open for sale on 16th March at Online Mi Store @ Lazada & retail outlets nationwide.

Well, after running teasers on their social media accounts for the last couple of days, it seems that Xiaomi Malaysia is finally revealing details for the Redmi Note 4 in Malaysia. While it had not been officially announced which model they will be revealing tomorrow, their latest video teaser ended with the digit “4”, followed by the words, “a new note rises”, highly indicating its reference to the Redmi Note 4. The unveiling will be done on their Facebook page at 12pm, 8th of March, which is tomorrow noon.

Redmi Note 4X, which is identical to the international version of Redmi Note 4 introduced in India recently, had just been announced in China. The regular Redmi Note 4X starts from 999 Yuan (around RM650) for the 3GB/32GB version, while the Hatsune Miku edition, that comes in green, along with extra battery pack and protective case costs 1299 Yuan (around RM840). There were no indication of how much the premium 4GB/64GB will cost.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X, which was teased a while ago on Weibo, will be launching soon. Despite not being officially announced yet, Xiaomi announced that they’ll be offering a special Hatsune Miku Edition in conjunction with the unveiling of the Redmi Note 4X on Valentine’s Day. It offers a slight cosmetic change(laser engraved Hatsune Miku's signature and unique serialised number), as well as an accessory package that includes a Limited edition Mi 10000mAh Power bank, and a Hatsune Miku printed soft protective case.

This week Huawei dominated the news with their latest and greatest Huawei Mate 9 and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 smartphones to go with a Huawei FIT smartwatch as well. Xiaomi managed to slip in their Redmi 4, Redmi 4A and Redmi 4 Prime smartphones while Olympus announced their OMD E-M1 Mark II DSLR will be going on sale in December 2016. The Meizu Pro 6S and Meizu M5 were officially announced while the Samsung w2017 flip phone officially arrived in China.

Xiaomi have officially launched their Xiaomi Redmi 4 in three variants; the more affordable Redmi 4A, the standard Redmi 4 and the higher-end Redmi 4 Prime. Priced at 499 yuan (about RM311) the Redmi 4A features a metal body but lacks a fingerprint sensor and has lower-end tech specs like a quad-core processor for 499 yuan (RM311).
